Hospital Chaplains
Hospital Chaplains serve with in the organization of a hospital looking after the needs of both of the patients and hospital staff. They are often present to serve and encourage grieving families, as well as individuals who experiencing a crisis. The individuals a Hospital Chaplain speaks to on a daily basis come from a variety of religious backgrounds, therefore the Hospital Chaplain must be trained on how to relate to each individual without religious bias.
Hospital Chaplain duties include:
Carrying out the goals of the pastoral care department.
Organizing worship services.
Offering religious and spiritual guidance to patients/residents/clients, staff and administrators.
Regularly visits patients daily giving priority to those in greatest need.
Is available to serve the families of deceased patients/residents/clients as required by follow-up guidance.
Establishes positive working relationships with all members of the health team as well as with the volunteers.
